Prerequisites

Warning

The AD-FMCADC4-EBZ is a legacy product that has been retired and is no longer available for sale. It has been removed from the HDL and software repositories, but is still available in the git history. This documentation is provided for reference only.

What you need depends on what you are trying to do. As a minimum, you need to start out with:

Hardware prerequisites

  1. The AD9680-based evaluation board: AD-FMCADC4-EBZ

  2. An FPGA carrier platform. Our supported ones can be found here.

  3. Up to four signal sources for the analog input connectors (J301A, J301B, J301C, J301D).

  4. A UART cable for serial console access (115200 baud, 8N1)

  5. An SD card with at least 16 GB of memory.

Software prerequisites

Normally, for basic functionalities regarding visualizing the data captured from the ADC, we use the following:

  1. IIO Oscilloscope, a graphical tool for capturing and displaying IIO device data

  2. Scopy v2.0 or later (must include the IIO plugin)

Note

ADI does not offer FPGA carrier platforms for sale or loan; getting one yourself is the normal part of development or evaluation.
